
ED records IAS Pooja Singhal’s statement in connection to Rs 19 crore seized from her aides

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recorded IAS Pooja Singhjal’s statement on Saturday in connection to the agency seizing over Rs 19 crore from two of her close aides.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recorded IAS Pooja Singhjal’s statement on Saturday after the agency seized over Rs 19 crore in cash from two of her close aides. Sources said the ED is also going through the documents that were seized from her aides linking her with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who allegedly granted a mining lease license to himself.
The Election Commission had recently issued a notice to Hemant Soren to clarify his stand on the mining licence controversy. IAS Pooja Singhal is presently the mining and geology secretary in the Jharkhand government.

The ED seized a total of 19.31 crore on Friday, of which 17 crore was recovered from the premises of Pooja Singhal’s chartered accountant, Suman Kumar. Additionally, Rs 1.8 crore was allegedly recovered from another location.
An ED officer had said that incriminating documents had also been seized from the residence of the IAS officer during the searches.
