ED officials on Saturday brought in more cash-counting machines to Arpita Mukherjee's residence. Raids are underway at her residence in Kolkata in connection with the SSC scam.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Saturday brought two more cash-counting machines to Arpita Mukherjee's residence. The TMC minister's aide was detained earlier in connection with the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam.
The raids are ongoing at various places in Bengal, including at properties belonging to minister Partha Chatterjee.
The state education minister has been arrested in connection with the teacher recruitment scam.
On Friday, ED officials had recovered Rs 20 crore from Arpita Mukherjee's residence. The total amount recovered by the central agency is Rs 21 crore so far.
According to sources, the ED has also recovered several documents and analysis of those documents is underway.
Several incriminating documents that indicate the possible involvement of Partha Mukherjee and his associates in the scam have also been recovered by the ED during searches.
