The EC has ordered an FIR against Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh for allegedly 'threatening' voters in Uttar Pradesh.
Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered an FIR against Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh.
The legislator from Goshamahal will be booked under sections 171C and 171F of the IPC and Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act.
EC had earlier this week served a notice to T Raja Singh for a video message he issued in the context of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. The poll panel had asked T Raja Singh to provide an explanation for why action should not be initiated against him.

The legislator from Telangana had sought more time to file his reply to the ECI notice. He was granted time until 1 pm on Saturday.
However, the EC did not receive a response from him.
In the video, BJP MLA T Raja Singh was heard saying, "Those who do not vote for the BJP, I would like to tell them that Yogi [Adityanath] ji has arranged thousands of JCB bulldozers."
