While the pandemic scaled down the festivities in the last two years, the Milan Samiti of Sahibabad is back with a mammoth pandal and colossal idol, with a unique theme, display and special grandeur.
It is that time of the year when the city witnesses the sprouting of ornate pandals, surrounded by a swarm of people in traditional red-and-white sarees, exchanging lip-smacking milk sweets and savories. While the pandemic scaled down the festivities in the last two years, the Milan Samiti of Sahibabad is back with a mammoth pandal and colossal idol, with a unique theme, display and special grandeur.
Have a look at the idol and pandal at Milan Samiti in Shalimar Garden:
The members of the samiti, Arup Chatterjee (General Secretary), Swatan Banerjee (President), Tanmoy Maji (Treasurer), Sanjib Bhattacharya (Pandal Secretary), Saibal Mukherjee (Cultural Secretary), and Abhijeet Bhattacharya (Puja Secretary) are holding the 24th year of celebration this year in Shalimar Garden.
Arup Chatterjee said, ''The last two years, Puja was done in a muted manner, because of the pandemic but 2022 being our 24th year of the celebrations, we have organised a beautiful pandal.''
When asked about the pandal decoration, Sanjib Bhattacharya said, ''The artisans involved in the making of pandal arrived from Kolkata. It has made this year more special.''
Since full-scale celebrations are happening after a gap of two years, organisers have planned various events on the sidelines of the Durga Puja.
