It has now come to light that the second accused in the Dumka murder case was arrested in 2021 for held for allegedly abducting a girl. India Today spoke exclusively to the victim.
One of the men held in connection with the murder of a minor girl in Jharkhand’s Dumka was previously arrested for the abduction of another girl.
Accused Naeem Khan alias Chotu was the second arrest made in the Dumka murder case. It has now come to light that he has a criminal record as he was arrested for allegedly abducting a girl in 2021. India Today spoke exclusively to the victim, who narrated her ordeal.
"Chotu had abducted me in 2021. He used to tell me to talk to him and tried to speak to me on the road. I was harassed by him. One day, he abducted me and tied me to a chair in his house. He told me to marry him," said the girl.
She alleged that Chotu had threatened her with dire consequences if she did not listen to him. The young man had threatened that she would be “sent to Dubai” if she didn’t comply, she claimed.
"My mother contacted Priya Singh, lawyer, and then police arrived at his house an hour later and saved me. He was arrested, but later got bail. He threatened me again after getting bail," she said.
The girl's lawyer, Priya Singh, spoke to India Today and stated that she too was threatened by the accused for taking up the case.
