Days after 19-year-old Ankita Singh was set ablaze by a man, identified as Shahrukh, for spurning his advances, photographs of the two of them together started making rounds on social media platforms. However, Ankita’s family has claimed that the images are morphed.
Speaking to India Today, Vikas Kumar, Ankita’s brother-in-law, identified that the people seen in the photos are Ankita and Shahrukh. He, however, added that images can be morphed.

"The people in the photograph are Ankita and Shahrukh, but in today's age it can be morphed too,” Vikar Kumar said.
On August 23, the accused allegedly poured petrol on the teenager from outside the window of her room when she was sleeping and set her on fire. The incident took place in Jharkhand's Dumka district.
Ankita, who was undergoing treatment at Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Sunday.
The killing causes uproar across the state, with the National Commission for Women saying it has written to the Jharkhand Police chief, calling for a fair investigation into the death of the woman.
