An Australian musk duck named Ripper was recorded imitating the phrase "you bloody fool" during a courtship display according to a study published by researcher Carel ten Cate on Monday, September 6.

An Australian musk duck was recorded saying "you bloody fool" in the first documented instance of the species mimicking human speech. A male waterbird named Ripper was recorded imitating the phrase during a courtship display according to a study published by researcher Carel ten Cate of Netherlands' Institute of Biology Leiden of Leiden University. The researcher’s study is based on recorded audio of an Australian musk duck from 1987 which scientist Peter J Fullagar received from an Australian birder.More Related News
