DU students hold protests against offline exams, demand online OBE for final year

DU students held a protest against the conducting of the final year exam in offline mode and demanded an online open book examination for the same.
Delhi University (DU) students have been protesting against the varsity’s decision to hold an offline examination arguing that since education was in online mode, the examination should also be in online mode. A protest asking for the final year exams to held in offline mode was also held by DU students on Monday.
Students arguing for the open book examination (OBE) have said that they should not be forced to sit in an offline examination if 60%-70% of their course syllabus was completed in online mode.
An announcement for the conducting of exams in a physical mode for sixth semester had been earlier announced by the varsity.
Delhi University will be holding a physical examination after almost two years which are likely to be held in May and June.
Considering students’ earlier protests, Delhi University released a revised notification pertaining certain relaxations for examinations during the month of May/June-2022 i.e., even semester examinations which are going to be held in physical mode.
