DU Admission through CUET: JMC, St Stephen's seek clarification on minority reservation

Since DU admissions will be held through CUET this year onwards, St Stephen's and Jesus and Mary College have sought clarification on minority reservations from the DU VC.
In the wake of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) becoming mandatory for admission to undergraduate courses this year, St Stephen's College and Jesus and Mary College (JMC) have written to Delhi University's vice-chancellor seeking clarification on the admission procedure.
The two colleges are minority institutions, with Christian students taking up half of the seats. Both institutions used to have their own admissions cut-offs, with St Stephen's additionally conducting interviews.
Admissions to minority colleges, such as these two, will also be handled through CUET, according to DU's statutory bodies.
According to the reservation policy of such colleges, separate merit lists would be prepared for unreserved and minority candidates during counselling.
"I have asked for clarity on the admission process through an email. We are fine with CUET because it's either the board exam or the CUET scores. If the university has said it, we are okay with it," said St Stephen's principal John Varghese.
He claims it's been a fortnight since he wrote to Singh, and the varsity has failed to respond.
According to DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh, his office plans to write to St Stephen's saying that for general seats, it should only consider CUET scores, but for minority seats, it can hold interviews and give CUET scores a weightage of 85% and the remainder to interviews.
