Telangana DSPs Zareen and Siraj to aid coaching personnel at cricket and boxing coaching centers at Telamngana police battalion where athletes would be nurtured
Expertise of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) Nikhat Zareen and Md. Siraj, champion sports persons from Telangana, would be utilised to aid coaching personnel at the proposed state-of-the-art boxing and cricket coaching centres to be established at a Telangana State Special Police (TGSP) battalion.
Speaking at the Passing Out Parade ceremonies conducted in Hyderabad on Friday (January 3, 2025) for constables who successfully completed their training at various TGSP battalions, chief guest of the ceremony DGP Jitender revealed plans to establish the coaching centres.
Commending the achievements of Ms. Zareen and Mr. Siraj, Telangana government has rewarded them with Group-I level posts and land. They both joined the police department as DSPs a few months ago.
Inspired by their international achievements, the coaching centres aim to nurture aspiring sportspersons and provide them with world-class training, said the DGP. Under the leadership of Ms. Zareen and Mr. Siraj, the coaching facilities will be designed to train athletes to excel on the global stage, fostering talent and contributing to the state’s sports legacy.
Addressing the gathering at the TGSP 1st Battalion in Yousufguda, Hyderabad, DGP Jitender announced the successful training of 4,077 constables statewide, including 548 from the Yousufguda battalion, marking the largest-scale training programme in the department’s history. The constables, among whom were 2,746 graduates, 596 postgraduates, and 62 ex-servicemen, were urged to uphold discipline, integrity, and dedication in their service.
The DGP praised the TGSP personnel for their contributions to maintain law and order in Telangana and other States, highlighting their future roles in combating drug trafficking, curbing cybercrime, and supporting specialized divisions such as the CID and GRP. He commended the efforts of the training officers and staff, emphasising the department’s focus on nurturing excellence.
TGSP additional DGP Sanjay Kumar Jain addressed the recruits, encouraging them to make their families and the department proud with their service. Distinguished attendees at the event in Yousufguda included Commandant Murali Krishna and DSP Zareen.
