The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University has signed a MoU with the Delhi government to provide women with entrepreneurship training.
The Delhi government inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) on Monday to provide women with state-of-the-art training and promote entrepreneurship amongst them. The MoU was signed in the presence of Women and Child Development Minister Kailash Gahlot by Delhi Women and Child Development Department director and DSEU registrar.
Providing details about the MoU, the WCD minister said, “This MoU is helping to launch an era of women entrepreneurs through skilling and giving them a platform to innovate their own livelihood ideas.”
WCD Minister Kailash Gahlot went on to remark that this journey will not only empower women by giving them opportunities but also educate women to empower themselves along with future generations.
The WCD minister further said, “I am hopeful for impressive outcomes that will result from this partnership. The Delhi government is highly focused on creating employment, which was heavily reflected in our Rozgar Budget this year too.”
For the training of women entrepreneurs and for women micro-entrepreneurship programmes, 120 Anganwadi centres will serve as training-cum-business incubation centres, as per the Women and Child Development department.
Under the programme, support will be provided to more than 100 women micro-entrepreneurial ventures while the capacity building of over 2500 women at anganwadis will be trained to go up the economic ladder.
Based on the Department’s ‘Samriddhi Project’, this MoU has the objective of implementing the Women Entrepreneurship Development Program to train existing and new women entrepreneurs in the state to establish their own enterprises via the DWCD’s Saheli Samanvay Kendra (SSK) Anganwadi Hubs.
