Drunk man's fake bomb-on-plane threat to stop family from leaving India

A Chennai resident made a fake bomb threat to stop his family from flying out of India. He was under the influence of alcohol when he said a bomb was planted on a Dubai-bound flight.
A Chennai man, under the influence of alcohol, called a police control room and said a bomb was planted on a Dubai-bound flight on Saturday because he wanted to prevent his family members from travelling out of the country.
Following the bomb threat, a thorough check was undertaken by the security agencies to ascertain if any explosive items were planted on the flight. However, no such items were found on the aircraft.

The IndiGo flight was scheduled to depart from the Chennai airport at 7:20 am but departure was delayed following the bomb threat, which turned out to be a hoax.
The police then traced the call to the Chennai resident and found out that his motive was to stop his relatives from flying to Dubai and he was promptly picked up by the police.
Around 180 passengers and crew members of the flight were provided accommodation.
