Aryan Khan was one of the 23 people arrested by the anti-drugs agency after it raided the Cordelia cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai in October last year. He was given a clean chit by the NCB today.
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was cleared by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as it filed a 6,000-page chargesheet in the drugs-on-cruise case on Friday. Aryan Khan was one of the 23 people arrested by the anti-drugs agency after it raided the Cordelia cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai in October last year.
After spending 22 days behind bars in connection with the drugs-on-cruise case, Aryan Khan was finally released from the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai on October 30.
The release came two days after the Bombay High Court granted bail to Aryan Khan and friends Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha.
The NCB had arrested the three, along with 20 others on different dates, on October 3 following a raid on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
Aryan Khan’s bail on October 28 came days after his earlier petitions were rejected, first by the sessions court and then by the special NDPS court.
- On October 2, the NCB conducted a raid on Cordelia cruise ship going from Mumbai to Goa after receiving a tip-off about a rave party. Eight people, including Aryan Khan, Arbaaz and Munmun, were detained. A case was registered against all three, who were then produced before a magistrate’s court, which sent them to NCB custody for a day.
- On October 4, the NCB claimed it found evidence linking Aryan Khan, Arbaaz and Munmun to international drug trafficking. It sought further custody of the trio, and the magistrate’s court sent them to remand till October 7. Following this, the court rejected NCB’s request for another extension and sent all three to judicial custody. While Aryan and Arbaaz were sent to Arthur Road jail, Munmun Dhamecha was lodged in Mumbai’s Byculla Ladies Jail.
