Drugs cruise case: Aryan Khan approaches court to get his passport back
India Today
Aryan Khan has approached the Special Court seeking the return of his passport and formal discharge from the Drug cruise case.
Actor Shahrukh Khan’s son, 24-year-old Aryan Khan, has filed an application before the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985 (NDPS) court seeking the return of his passport.
Khan has also sought cancellation of his bail bond and a formal order discharging him from the case.
Khan’s plea before the NDPS court says that "The Applicant, in compliance of the bail condition, duly surrendered his passport before this Court immediately and deposited it with Court on 29.10.2021."
The court, after receiving his application, has asked the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to file a reply and the court will hear the application on July 13.
Khan was arrested along with his friend, actor Arbaaz Merchant, while on the way to board a cruise to Goa on Oct 2, 2021. The NCB had claimed at that time that though no drug was found on him, there were messages on his phone which linked him to an international drug racket. However, after Khan was granted bail nearly a month later and many suspicions were raised on the investigation, a special investigating team (SIT) of NCB took over the case.
The SIT submitted a chargesheet recently in the case in which Khan and a couple of others who had not been found with drugs, were not chargesheeted by the agency.
It is only because of this that Khan now seeks his passport and a formal order discharging him from the case.
