Drugs case: NCB refutes Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash's allegations against it
India Today
The NCB has refuted Karishma Prakash's allegations that it forced her to change her lawyer, failing which it would invoke Section 27A of the NDPS Act against her.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed an affidavit before a special court in Mumbai to counter the charges levelled against it by actor Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash. In her allegations, Karishma Prakash said the NCB was "forcing" her to change her lawyer, failing which it (NCB) would invoke Section 27A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against her. Section 27A pertains to the crime of financing illicit trafficking and harbouring offenders. Offences under this section attract a punishment that can range from 10-20 years in prison.More Related News
