Drones, Geo Fencing To Be Used In 4 "Triple Lockdown" Kerala Districts

Due to surge in coronavirus cases, the Kerala government has decided to extend the state-wide lockdown for another week from Sunday and impose triple lockdown in the four districts.
Drones and Geo Fencing technology will be used and strict restrictions would be clamped in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram districts, reporting the highest number of COVID-19 cases, where triple lockdown will come into force from midnight on Sunday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. "A detailed order in this regard will be issued by the respective District Disaster Management Authorities. The current lockdown will continue in the other ten districts of the State," Mr Vijayan told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. With Covid cases continuing its surge, the government had on Friday decided to extend the state-wide lockdown for another week from Sunday and impose triple lockdown in the four districts. While Malappuram reported 4,782 cases, the highest, Ernakulam accounted for 3,744, Thrissur 3,334 and Thiruvananthapuram 3,292 cases today.More Related News
