Driver in hospital after crash involving transport truck closes east-bound lanes of 401 this morning

A driver is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision on Highway 401, southwest of London, on Wednesday morning that resulted in the closure of east-bound lanes.
Emergency services responded to reports at around 5:53 a.m. ET for a two-vehicle collision between Union Road and Colonel Talbot Road.
Police said a transport truck and a commercial delivery van were involved.
The injured driver was taken to a trauma centre, police said in a statement, while the other driver was uninjured.
The eastbound Highway 401 remained closed between Union Road and Colonel Talbot Road mid-morning as police investigated. A detour onto Union Road was set up.
