Doha: DPS-MIS Kindergarten has celebrated Garangao festival virtually. Garangao is a children’s festival celebrated on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan in the Middle East after fasting hours.
Girls dressed in traditional gowns with embroidery and golden jewelry and the boys wore traditional Qatari dress ‘Thob’, jackets, and caps. They were holding goodie bags filled with delicious candies and nuts in their hands. The celebration also included a wide range of activities like colouring the ‘Happy Garangao’ worksheet, children sharing about the things in their goodie bags and were shown an informative audio visual of how the festival is celebrated. All kids happily enjoyed the music, danced to the tunes of Garangao song and parted wishing safety, health, and joy to all. Although celebrated virtually maintaining social distancing this year, it created an echoing memory of Qatari culture and heritage.More Related News
