Double whammy: Dengue cases bite several states amid Covid deluge
India Today
With efforts underway to prevent a third wave of Covid-19 infections, dengue outbreaks in a number of states have health experts worried. Here's all you need to know.
Covid cases may be receding in India, but there seems to be no respite on the health front. The age-old problems of dengue and viral fever, observed mostly around monsoon, have reared their ugly heads once again. More so in India's most populated state of Uttar Pradesh, where more than 1,200 cases and nearly 90 deaths have already come to light. Preliminary figures show UP's Firozabad is one of the worst-hit districts. As many as 105 new cases of dengue and viral fever were reported here on September 5. The death toll is reported to have mounted to 55, with most casualties being children. The official death count is still awaited, though.More Related News
