Dose of reality: India’s faltering Covid-19 vaccination drive tracked to 21 states

Delhi is leading the chart in the list of states with a maximum proportion of population vaccinated in the age group of 18-44. Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Jharkhand follow Delhi in the list.

After a decent April, the pace of Covid-19 vaccination in India was expected to go up in May. It didn’t though, as data show an unfortunate drop in the inoculation process. As against the daily average of 29 lakh doses administered in April, the number fell to 19 lakh a day a month later. This happened even as the people queued up all across the country for the jabs.
