Passengers stranded on Vande Bharat Express as doors fail to open at Dindigul station, leading to unscheduled stop.
A few passengers of Tirunelveli-bound Vande Bharat Express could not alight at Dindigul railway station on Saturday (December 4, 2024) night as the doors of the train failed to open.
According to railway sources, the passengers of compartments D4, D5 and D6, who were to get down at Dindigul railway station, waited for the doors to open when the train stopped at 7.46 p.m.
However, the doors of these coaches, which are operated by the train manager, reportedly did not open.
The passengers in the air-conditioned coaches were stranded and before they could react, the train started to chug out of the platform.
Some of the passengers had pulled the alarm chain but then the train had picked up speed.
Later, as the issue was conveyed to the loco pilot, the train made an unscheduled stoppage at Kodaikanal Road railway station.
After the passengers, said to be around 15, got down at the station, they were allowed to proceed towards Dindigul by the Thoothukudi-Mysuru Express train.
