"I will never take it [Z security]. I don't want to be suffocated," AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi said in the Lok Sabha a day after his car was attacked.
Speaking in Lok Sabha on Friday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said he does not want Z-category security. The MP from Hyderabad escaped unhurt after his car came under attack in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur the previous day.
"My question is who radicalising them [attackers]. Why is there no UAPA being slapped against the attackers? I leave this to the government to review the situation," Owaisi said in the lower house.
He further urged the central government to look into ' inflammatory speeches' made against him at dharam sansads organised in Haridwar, Raipur and Prayagraj in recent weeks.
Referring to the attack on his life, Asaduddin Owaisi said in the Lok Sabha, "I do not want Z category security. I want to live a free life, not one where I have to suffocate. I will never take it [Z security]. I don't want to be suffocated. End the hate."
The AIMIM leader also said that when there was a lapse in PM Narendra Modi's security during the Prime Minister's visit to Punjab, he was the only leader from the Opposition to term the breach 'condemnable'.
