Don't want free laptops but 24-hour power supply: Delhi locals share woes
India Today
Delhi residents have said that instead of providing free laptops, the government should provide 24-hour power supply. The people of Delhi are outraged and say that the Delhi government is making excuses instead of providing power.
Outraged over the ongoing power cuts, people in Delhi said they want 24 hours of power supply instead of free laptops.
Whether the excuse of power cuts is due to the shortage of coal or because of heavy demand, the people of Delhi are miffed over the issue. A Delhi resident said, “The Delhi government is making excuses for 200 units of free electricity. When there is no electricity in the houses, and not even 50 units are spent, the free laptop idea is troubling the public a lot.”
People said, “We do not want free laptops. You take electricity bills from us, but we need 24 hours of electricity. On one hand, the Aam Aadmi Party is patting its back by talking about the Delhi model in the state. But the truth is, while the Delhi government is patting its back over providing electricity, people are beating their heads due to power cuts.
Talking about South Delhi, apart from Bhati Mines and Fatehpur Beri, there are many such areas where there is no power for hours every day. In such a situation, neither homes nor offices are able to function.
Meanwhile, in Gurugram, powercuts are being reported for nearly 10 hours a day. Due to this, industries in the area are also being severely affected.
