Using the conventional form of amphotericin to treat cases of black fungus can significantly reduce the treatment costs. Doctors explain how.
Tracking blood creatinine levels regularly while trying a different drug to treat cases of mucormycosis can significantly reduce the treatment costs, say doctors. According to a report in The Times of India, surgeons have found that while the expenses of treating mycormycosis patients can cost up to Rs 35,000, it can be reduced Rs 350 if the blood creatinine levels of the patients are frequently monitored. The report states that while the liposomal form of amphotericin injections that are being used to treat cases of black fungus cases are priced at a higher range, the conventional form of the drug is priced 100 times less. However, this drug needs to be administered carefully and with the monitoring of blood creatinine levels.More Related News
