Vijayakant, founder of DMDK, passes away in Chennai hospital due to pneumonia on 28 December 2023.
Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder and general secretary Vijayakant who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for pneumonia, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
According to a statement from MIOT hospital, ‘Captain’ Vijaykanth was on ventilatory support following his admission for pneumonia.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff he passed away in the morning on 28 December 2023, the hospital said.
Earlier Vijayakant was admitted to the hospital on November 18 for treatment of a febrile illness and got discharged on December 11, 2023.
