The Opposition intensified its noisy protests which caused disruption in Lok Sabha on Wednesday over Pegasus snooping, farm laws, and other issues.
In January 2011, then Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley had said, “Parliament’s job is to conduct discussions. But many a time, Parliament is used [by the government] to ignore issues and in such situations, obstruction of Parliament is in the favour of democracy. Therefore, parliamentary obstruction is not undemocratic.” Back then, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was in the Opposition and the Congress, the leading constituent of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA), was attacking it for causing disruptions in Parliament.More Related News
