
Director-General of Coast Guard reviews operational preparedness of Eastern Sea Board

VS Pathania, the Director-General of the Indian Coast Guard, reviewed the operational preparedness of the Eastern Sea Board on Friday in Chennai. Ships and aircraft of the Coast Guard of the Eastern Sea Board displayed the Coast Guard's various charter of duties, including firefighting, boarding operations, search and rescue and pollution response demo.

The event concluded with a spectacular steam past by participating ships followed by fly past executed by aircraft of the region.
As the fourth largest Coast Guard in the world, the Indian Coast Guard has played a significant role in securing the coasts and enforcing the regulations within India's maritime zone. Proactive efforts and coordination with all stakeholders has ensured the safeguarding of all mariners at sea in line with the Indian Coast Guard motto “vayam rakshamah (we protect)".
