Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh first credited the West Bengal government before finding flaws in its claims about the impact of Cyclone Yaas in the state.
BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Wednesday praised the Mamata Banerjee administration for its management of Cyclone Yaas before criticising it later in the day. Yaas, categorised as a very severe cyclonic storm, made its landfall on the Odisha coastline. But its ferocity wreaked havoc in West Bengal as well. Large-scale flooding was reported from East Midnapore, Howrah and North and South 24 Parganas districts. However, several lives were saved as only one death was reported till Thursday morning in the state. The West Bengal government had reportedly evacuated 11 lakh people from vulnerable locations to the cyclone shelters.More Related News
