The Kerala HC issued an order on Saturday that the phones should be brought to Kerala and submitted by Monday. The court also identified agencies which would conduct the forensic evaluation.
Actor Dileep's mobile phones will be submitted before the Kerala High Court today. Six phones among the seven phones demanded by the prosecution will be submitted before the registrar on Monday, January 31 by 10.15 am.
The court had issued the order on Saturday, January 29, during a special sitting. The crime branch had filed a plea citing that the actor was not cooperating with the investigation of the conspiracy case against him.
The case pertains to actor Dileep conspiring with his friends and family to kill the investigation officers of the Kerala actor assault case.
The defence had claimed that the phones are in Mumbai for forensic evaluation and therefore it will be possible to bring them only by Tuesday. However, the court maintained that it should be brought on Monday itself.
The court has also identified agencies to do the forensic evaluation of the phones. The phones will be brought in a sealed cover and submitted.
The seventh phone, which won't be brought before the court, is a matter of contention. While Dileep maintains that he never used a fourth phone, the prosecution uses the IMEI number in the call records to point out the usage of a fourth phone during the period of the alleged conspiracy.
The actor had earlier refused to hand over the mobile phones to the team investigating the case. He had alleged that the crime branch would manipulate the devices and use the proofs that are favourable to him against him.
