IPL 2022, RCB v/s KKR: After defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the players of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opened up about how they managed to defeat the opponent and bag their first victory of IPL 2022.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets in their IPL 2022 encounter at DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday. Dinesh Karthik, a former KKR player, scored a 7-ball 14 and played a significant role in RCB's win with skipper Faf du Plessis branding him 'as ice cool as MS Dhoni'. This win is significant as RCB, despite posting a 205 against the Punjab Kings, lost against a power-packed batting line-up in their season opener.
RCB players and coaches opened up about the positives of their win over KKR. While the Sri-Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga spoke about working on his lines and length, Harshal Patel explained his maiden over against Andre Russell. Dinesh Karthik talked about his finisher's role and the coaches backed them up.
Dinesh Karthik admitted that despite being experienced, he was nervous when he went into bat in the closing stages, against a team he led in the past.
"Every game is a new game and every day is a new day. You do feel nervous even though they have been in similar situations before," Dinesh Karthik said in a video shared on RCB's official Twitter handle.
"The coach told me that he will be holding me back. I said 'okay, whatever the team plans, I am happy'. I was looking forward to the opportunity. It’s good it came out well," he said.
