Digvijay Singh should be ashamed for comparing the Popular Front of India with the RSS, BJP’s Sushil Kumar Modi said, reported news agency ANI.
Earlier in the day, Congress MP Digvijaya Singh compared the two groups and called them ‘ek hi thaali ke chatte-batte (tarred with the same brush)’, sparking a massive controversy. He sought action against all entities that spread hatred and violence.
“Action should be taken against all those who spread hatred and violence,” he said, asking why no action has been taken against right wing groups - the RSS and the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).
Singh’s remarks come amid the recent crackdown on PFI over terror funding allegations.

On September 22, in a major crackdown against the group, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at multiple locations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other states. Over a hundred PFI members and people connected to it were arrested by the ED, NIA and the state police in different cases.
The massive, multi-agency crackdown was discussed by the Home Ministry and officials of the NIA, ED, and Intelligence Bureau on September 19, sources told India Today TV. A meeting was held with officials of the Home ministry and top officials of central agencies after which the mega crackdown was carried out in a secret manner, they added.
