Diesel price in Mumbai crosses century as fuel costs rise again

Petrol, diesel prices today: The retail cost of diesel in Mumbai crossed Rs 100 on Wednesday as fuel prices were hiked for the eighth time in nine days across India.
Mumbai on Wednesday, March 30, became the first metropolitan city this year where diesel price crossed the Rs 100 mark as petrol and diesel prices saw a rise of 80 paise a litre each. This was the eighth hike in nine days, taking the total hike to Rs 5.60 a litre.
The last time Mumbai's diesel price crossed the century mark was in October 2021.
The prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi hit Rs 101.01 per litre and Rs 92.27 per litre respectively on Wednesday. In Mumbai, the prices were recorded at Rs 115.88 and Rs 100.10 per litre respectively.
Fuel prices in India are revised daily. However, the rates remained unchanged for 137 days, from November 2021 till March 22 when they were hiked. Since then, the rates have been increased nearly every day.
