Ever since an investigation into Ankita Bhandari's murder began, there have been rumors on social media about the Patwari police man having been arrested by a Special Investigation Team, or SIT, probing the case.
Patwari Vaibhav Pratap, who grabbed headlines in connection with Ankita Bhandari’s murder case over allegations of negligence, stressed his innocence while speaking to India Today TV. This was his first interview on camera since the murder case.
Ever since Ankita’s body was found and an investigation into her murder began, there have been rumors on social media about Pratap having been arrested by a Special Investigation Team, or SIT, probing the case.
“I did my work properly. I could not file an FIR until 24 hours passed since she went missing. I informed the teen’s family,” Pratap said.

“I am ready for any enquiry. Let me know where to go. Those spreading rumors on social media also want to punish me. Tell me what to do, but listen to me. I have nothing to do with Pulkit Arya. This resort was built several years ago. I didn't go on leave in the middle of the probe,” he added.
19-year-old Ankita Bhandari went missing from a resort in Rishikesh owned by a BJP leader’s son, Pulkit Arya. Bhandari worked there as a receptionist. Six days later, her body was found in a canal. An autopsy showed injuries to her body and said she had drowned.
Pulkit and others have been arrested by the police in the case.
