Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne on Sunday requested neighbouring Dominica, where fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi was caught, to deport the diamantaire, to India. Gaston Browne also indicated that if Mehul Choksi is deported to Antigua, he would continue to enjoy legal protection as a citizen of the country. "My request on behalf of the state, for Dominica to consider deporting Choksi directly to India, as a form of state cooperation to apprehend a fugitive, is perfectly acceptable," Antigua PM Gaston Browne said in an interview. Gaston Browne indicated that Mehul Choksi will not have the same rights in Dominica as he has in Antigua and Barbuda, where he had been staying since 2018 after taking citizenship in 2017 under the Citizenship by Investment programme.More Related News
