A 27-year-old trackman committed suicide by lying in front of a freight train on Valentine’s Day after he was allegedly denied leave to attend his brother-in-law's wedding.
A two-minute video of the victim's final moments has gone viral, in which he shared his ordeal with a colleague before succumbing to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Ramesh Singh, a resident of Bhatpurva village of Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district. He was supposed to attend a wedding on February 19.
“I was denied leave to attend the wedding of my brother-in-law,” said Ramesh in the video.
Meanwhile, DRM Prayagraj division Mohit Chandra has formed a multi-disciplinary four-member committee to investigate the matter and submit a report within 72 hours.
