Speaking at India Today Conclave 2021, Bharat Lal, the mission director of the Centre's Jal Jeevan Mission, said, "Decentralised, demand-driven and community-managed -- Jal Jeevan is all about community-driven programmes."
Known as the 'Waterman' of India, Rajendra Singh said on Saturday that water preservation and supply is a "community-driven action". He further warned that "India is not a climatic refugee. But, in the next seven years, if the situation remains the same", then India, too, might face challenges.
Rajendra Singh and Bharat Lal, Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, were speaking at the India Today Conclave 2021 during the session titled 'Water Works: Turn the tap. India's most crucial story'. Rajendra Singh, a well known conservationist who is also known as the Waterman of India, is responsible for reviving the traditional techniques of storing water in those part of the villages which were abandoned for decades by bringing water to them.
