Delhi weather update: Monsoon to bring respite from heat by June 27
India Today
Delhi may soon get relief from scorching heat as the Indian Meteorological Department is expecting the arrival of monsoons in the capital as soon as June 27.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the onset of the southwest monsoon in the national capital as early as the coming Monday, June 27.
The city has faced an unprecedented heat wave in June and the predicted precipitation would be a much-needed respite from the scorching heat.
Last year, for the first time in 19 years, Delhi experienced a significantly delayed monsoon period, with the rains hitting the capital only on July 13, which will not be the same case this year, according to the forecast.
The IMD, however, predicts another three days of intense heat, with temperatures likely to touch 40 degrees Celsius and strong sunshine throughout the day.
