A security guard at a shelter home allegedly raped a 16-year-old intellectually disabled girl in Delhi. The incident came to light when the girl got pregnant and complained of stomach pain.
The manager of the shelter home filed a complaint on January 31. In his complaint, he stated that a girl in the care center complained of stomach pain and was taken to hospital for examination, where doctors said she was pregnant.
The victim made allegations against the guard posted at the shelter home.
According to a report published in The Indian Express, the accused has been arrested and police are speaking to other girls at the home to ascertain if the accused had targeted any of them too.
The girl was abandoned by her parents three years ago and she has been staying at the shelter ever since.
An FIR has been registered and further investigations are on.
