Delhi’s largest cemetery is almost out of space as the number of deaths in the city has spiked significantly in the last four days due to a surge in the Covid-19 cases.
Delhi’s largest cemetery is struggling to find space to bury people dying of Covid-19. In the last four days, Jadid Qabristan Ahle Islam near Delhi Gate has received an unprecedented number of Covid-19 dead bodies. Mohammed Shamim, the cemetery’s care taker, told India Today TV that the number of bodies of people dying of Covid-19 has increased since April 4. But in last four days, it has shot up considerably. On Monday and Tuesday, total 43 bodies arrived at the cemetery for burial, out of which 30 were of Covid-19 patients, the care taker said, adding that he had never seen such a high number of deaths and burials on a daily basis.More Related News
