Busting an international mobile smuggling racket, the Delhi police have arrested two and recovered 78 stolen mobile phones from the accused. Reportedly, these phones were being smuggled to Nepal.
The special staff of Delhi Police have finally busted an international stolen mobile smuggling racket and arrested two people. Around 78 phones were recovered out of which 43 were connected to the case.
The accused named Munajir, a resident of Uttrakhand, and Prem Ahuja, a resident of Delhi were arrested by the Delhi Police who allegedly used to send stolen phones to Nepal through some middleman.
While investigating the case, the police found that several phones were not active as they were sent to Nepal to make them untraceable.
The police extensively searched and interrogated several suspects and criminals before nabbing the main accused.
While Prem, one of the accused, ran a mobile repair shop in Jagatpuri, Munajir had contacts in Nepal.
The accused started purchasing stolen or snatched mobile phones, particularly Android phones for Rs. 3,500-4,500 and selling them off in Nepal at a profit of Rs. 1,000 per piece.
Munajir used to send the consignment of the snatched and stolen phones through the buses by bribing the staff.
