Delhi Police has arrested an accused wanted in two robberies at gunpoint in the national capital. Acting on a tip-off, police scanned and analysed about 648 CCTV camera footage and nabbed the robber from his hideout in U.P
Delhi Police has arrested an accused wanted in two robberies at gunpoint in the national capital. Police also recovered weapons; a semi-automatic pistol, two country-made firearms, 34 cartridges, two mobile phones and one stolen motorcycle which was used in the crime from the accused's possession.
Police had received information about the accused's hideout in Uttar Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, police scanned and analysed about 648 CCTV camera footage and nabbed the robber from his hideout in U.P. Upon his instance, police also apprehended the receiver of the robbed property and recovered 86 gms of gold from his possession.
On February 28, a 38-year-old man identified as Manish Goyal, a resident of New Anaj Mandi, informed Mangolpuri police station that he had been robbed at gunpoint. In his complaint he stated that it was around 4:30 PM that he went to Vardan Skin Clinic near Pushpanjali for consultation with a doctor.
However, it was when he returned to his car that two stout men on a splendor motorcycle approached and threatened him and his friend Sumit with a gun and knife, asking them to handover all valuables with them. After robbing them of gold and valuables, the accused fled the spot in no time.
Similarly, another complainant and his brother were robbed of cash worth 1 lakh, a ring and gold valuables.
Based on both the complaints, police launched an investigation to nab the accused.
