A 47-year-old man, who was evading arrest in a murder case for 14 years, was nabbed by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. The arrested man colluded with the prime accused and killed a man in 2008.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested a wanted fugitive criminal, accused in a murder case, after 14 years of long chase. The accused named Vikram (47), a resident of Muzaffarnagar, colluded with his accomplice to murder a man in Rohini in 2008.
The prime accused in the case, identified as Robin, was arrested the same year for killing a man who was the live-in partner of his girlfriend's mother. The court had already declared Vikram as a proclaimed offender on May 2, 2009, a year after the crime was reported.
Police had raided several hideouts after Robin's arrest to nab his co-accused but Vikram had managed to evade his arrest to date. Police said he kept changing locations and shifted his base from Muzaffar Nagar to Hapur in Uttar Pradesh.
The story dates back to 2008. Robin reportedly fell in love with a girl and her mother Renu, a divorcee, had a live-in partner, Munna Singh (45). Renu and Munna opposed the relationship of Renu's daughter with Robin and prevented her from meeting him.
On the other hand, Robin suspected that Munna had some evil intentions towards him and his girlfriend. In December 2008, Robin and his girlfriend had a major fight following which he made up his mind to kill Munna.
An infuriated, Robin contacted Vikram and asked him to arrange a weapon to murder Robin. Vikram contacted a resident of Muzaffar Nagar and arranged the weapon.
In September 2008, at around 8 am in the morning, when Munna was cleaning his car outside Renu's house, Robin shot him in his chest and stomach. Munna Singh was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
