The accused, named Santosh Subhash Gamne aka Golu Gamne, has been booked under the MCOCA Act. Hailing from Maharashtra, the accused has several criminal charges against him.
Gamne abducted a minor girl on May 16, 2021, from her house in the Palam area of the South West district of the city.
Her mother reached out to Delhi Police on May 18, seeking help to find her missing daughter. As the minor had already been previously kidnapped once, the Palam Police team registered a case and began an investigation, keeping the accused of the previous case, Gamne, as the primary suspect.
Since the accused hailed from Maharashtra, the police team from Delhi closely monitored that region, as in the previous case of kidnapping, the girl had been recovered from Nagpur.
Soon, the police team were able to trace the girl in Maharashtra in November 2021 but the accused managed to slip off along with the victim.
Finally, it was on April 4, 2022, the team from Palam Police station managed to track Gamne, who was hiding along with the girl in Surat, Gujrat.
