Delhi Police arrests arms supplier from Jahangirpuri in encounter

The Delhi police arrested an arms supplier from Jahangirpuri in an encounter. As many as sixty criminal cases have been registered against the accused.
A major arms supplier from the Jahangirpuri area was arrested by Delhi Police after a brief encounter on Wednesday.
During the firing, the accused received a bullet injury. Around sixty criminal cases have been registered against the accused.
The arms supplier used to run a racket of illegal weapons on a large scale in the Jahangirpuri area.
The arrest was made amid unrest in Jahangirpuri where a large number of unauthorised weapons were used.
However, the police are yet to find any connection between the history-sheeter and the ongoing violence.
For the unversed, a riot broke out last Saturday after two groups clashed during a procession on Hanuman Jayanti.
Till now, 25 people, including two prime accused, Ansar and Aslam, and two juveniles have been held for inciting violence in the area.
