Police arrested a man for allegedly strangulating his 24-year-old sister to death following a dispute over some petty domestic issue in northwest Delhi's Mahendra Park area. Police said the deceased and her brother were drug addicts and used to often fight with each other over petty tiffs.
Police have arrested the brother, identified as Vikas, and a case of murder has been registered against him.
On Saturday, police received a call and the caller said that a woman was strangulated to death by her own brother. Police teams from PCR and Mahendra Park units immediately reached the spot where the body of the woman, with a strangulation mark on her neck, was found in a room.
The accused was nabbed from the spot and he had confessed to killing his sister. Usha Rangnani, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest), told PTI, "A quarrel had broken out between them over some domestic issue on Saturday leading to Vikash killing his sister." (sic)
Police have registered a case of murder against the accused and further investigations are underway.
