The deceased was identified as Gudiya Devi, who hailed from Jharkhand.
At around 1 am, a PCR call was received at Alipur police station regarding the murder of a woman, who was taken to Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

Police started an investigation into the matter. During the investigation, it was found the victim had come to Delhi along with her husband to take their daughter back, who had come to the city 15 days back.A scuffle broke out between the couple and the husband murdered his wife by brutally thrashing her. Multiple injuries were observed on the facial portion of the deceased.
The accused was arrested and a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC.
