Delhi hospitals overwhelmed, Covid-19 patients rush to Punjab for treatment | Ground Report

As Delhi grapples to manage adequate medical oxygen and ICU beds, coronavirus patients are now being admitted to hospitals in Punjab for treatment.

With Delhi reeling under severe shortage of life-saving oxygen and ICU beds, Covid-19 patients are getting admitted to hospitals in Punjab for treatment. While the number of Covid-19 patients in Punjab is relatively lower than Delhi, a sporadic increase in positivity rate in the ongoing second wave has led to a rise in hospitalisations. Various hospitals have reported scarcity of oxygen as well. Punjab reported 6,318 fresh infections and 98 Covid-related deaths on Monday. In Delhi, 20,201 new cases and 380 fatalities were registered on Monday.
