
Delhi High Court rejects WhatsApp’s plea seeking stay on CCI probe into new privacy policy

The plea was rejected by the court on the grounds that a similar application seeking stay of further steps in the investigation had already been filed by WhatsApp and Facebook before the regular Bench.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday declined a fresh plea by WhatsApp to put on hold a notice issued by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) seeking information regarding the messaging app’s controversial new privacy policy. On June 4, the CCI’s Director General had sent a notice to WhatsApp and Facebook asking them to submit certain documents as part of the commission's inquiry into the new privacy policy. The Mark Zuckerberg-owned platforms on Monday approached the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the probe.More Related News
