Delhi Health Minister says Delta variant found in 80% Covid samples sent for genome sequencing

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that Delta variant of coronavirus was detected in at least 80% of the samples sent for genome sequencing since July.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday that the Delta variant of coronavirus has been detected in at least 80 per cent of the samples sent for genome sequencing by the government in the last three months. The health department had earlier said the Delta variant (B.1.617.2) was detected in 83.3 per cent of the samples sent for genome sequencing in Delhi in July.
