Delhi Police arrested a drug trafficker and seized 2 kg of heroin worth Rs 5 crore in Mahadev Chowk, Shahbad, on Monday.
Delhi Police arrested a 57-year-old drug trafficker and seized 2 kg of heroin worth Rs 5 crore in Mahadev Chowk, Shahbad, on Monday.
The accused was identified as Rajeev Gupta, who hails from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
“On receipt of secret information, a team of the Narcotics Cell arrested the drug trafficker,” according to DCP Outer North, B K Yadav, as reported by news agency ANI.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that the accused was involved in the supply of Crude (premature stage of heroin) as well as Acetic Anhydride (a chemical used for manufacturing heroin) and Alprazolam raw material.
He procured it from Jharkhand and Gwalior for supply in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
CDR and WhatsApp call records of the accused are being analysed to identify and arrest the source as well as receivers of contraband.
